Absolutely love the change in terrain and scenery on this trip, thanks so much for sharing!
Mental!
Oh man, what an inspiration! The idea of "seasonal wilderness" is new to me, and the Henry Mtns have had a spot on my to-do list since I first saw their snow-capped peaks in May of 2019 while I was on the way to Capitol Reef NP (photo below) so this hit a lot of buttons for me.
Since 2019, I've learned that they were the last peaks in the lower 48 to be named by Europeans, and they also house a genomically important heard of bison, which only increases their appeal. I've purchased Michael Kelsey's guidebook to the region, but I have a hard time knowing where to start with his books, so haven't made much headway planning a trip. Thanks so much for sharing this adventure with all of us.
Did this route (minus the skiing) in 2014 with my partner and dog. those round the waterfalls/pouroffs are no joke. very high off the deck, and almost 10 years ago there was certainly not much in the way of a trail.
