Great bivy

This bivy came along for what was going to be a CDT thru hike, but ended up being Montana and Wyoming. It will tag along when I finish the CDT next year. It's lightweight and breathable with a large net space. I've added another string to the string above the head to make it a bit longer - but I love this bivy. Enough space for my backpack to go at my feet at night and a Katabatic quilt. I've been using bivies since 2019 (I love camping under the sky but bug-free), and thru hiked the PCT in 2023 with a different brand - and after switching to Hyperlite I've been extremely happy. Packs up small and I love both the net space to see the sky, as well as the water proof bottom. I pair it with a pyramid tarp if/when it rains or snows.

Bivy Review

Saved 6 oz over my old Bivy and was able to toss my Tyvek ground sheet. So significant savings in bulk and weight. Well made of course. The only design improvement I would like to see is a rain shield / fabric panel at the head, which is often close to sticking out from underneath my tarp but others may enjoy the excellent airflow , the way it comes. Splash Bivy

It does not come with string attachments nor tent stakes. Trekking poles will not hold up the bivy unless they are buried in the ground. The best would be to place the bivy between 2 trees which is not always possible.

Works very well

I had some few nights with it. So far very good. One of the nights it was pouring down rain. I was sleeping in a puddle, but it worked well.
