The bug barrier companion to our UltaMid 2 Pyramid Tent.
Even the most merciless bugs will perish from exhaustion before they interrupt a much-deserved good night’s sleep. Like our other inserts, this one is built with “no-see-um” mesh and fits just a bit smaller than the full perimeter of the UltaMid 2 to all but eliminate condensation. When bugs are a concern, but so is your overall base weight, this mesh insert is great for ultralight pursuits chasing pack weight goals or looking for the least amount of bulk to keep packs small. While this insert handles bug issues with authority, we still recommend going with a floor if moisture-rich environments are on your travel itinerary. UltaMid 2 Tent, Ultralight Stake Kit, and UltaMid Carbon Fiber Tent Pole sold separately.

As expected the mesh insert is top of class for build quality. Unfortunately shipping was an issues with this the same as my tent. After multiple weeks I contacted customer support asking when It will be shipped (website says 1 week) I got a notice that it was shipped and the support ticket was closed. Not very impressed when paying for such premium products.

Easy to set up. It provides a huge amount of bug-free space, which allows a safe-haven to cook, clean up, organize gear, etc. all while the skeeters watch you from afar. Sure, you can find a lighter weight setup, but you'll also be locked into a much smaller area. I fought hordes of mosquitoes last year in the Sierra, and this piece of gear helped me keep my sanity. Love that I'm not zipped into a body-sized bug net with gear on the outside of the netting where I can't get to it without letting skeeters in.
