Figuring out how to suck less
I was UNFAIRLY critical of this bag , being that I still suffered still after purchasing / using . I went out for a 30 mi trip 3x (same route a few weeks apart) with a different bag each time . outing #1 was with the northrim 55 , outing #2 was an osprey aether 85 , outing #3 was an arcetyrx alpha 30 . I suffered the least with the 30 probably due to a lighter more compact load but living out of it was a chore . The aether soaked up sweat and ate me alive . The Northrim was great until I fatigued . Ultimately I just needed to improve my physical conditioning (endurance / reducing my fat composition) / reduce some gear / substitute for more efficient gear ( not necessarily lighter gear) The thing with this style of bag is ,that it is surprisingly adaptable to whatever the situation is . The bottom line is that the bag is legit & Im the problem - cheers to sucking less !
