We built the ultimate, super lightweight Ground Cloth for minimalist overnight backpackers who like to sleep under the stars, but who still want foolproof protection for their gear from moisture, mud and dirt.

Ideal for goal-oriented adventurers constantly on the move and in need of fast protection from inclement weather, it’s sizeable but weighs less than an iPhone. Pair it with our Flat Tarp or UltaMids (if not using the respective inserts). Made of 100% waterproof Dyneema® Composite Fabric (formerly Cuben Fiber), it serves as an excellent waterproof barrier between you and the ground. Stake it out with its reinforced loops so the wind doesn’t blow it away.

Every Ounce!

I questioned if I would regret the cost for function on this piece, but hands down, would do it again. It provided unrivaled protection in the most rugged harsh conditions the Wind Rivers could through at us. Snow, downpour, mud, talus, Krumhotz...and for the space and weight, this things performed flawless.

Ground Cloth

I use this as my three season shelter for one person. My dog even fit in with me. On colder nights, I set it up near a campfire for collected warmth. It also has worked to keep three people sitting up in a major thunderstorm. Oh yeah it makes a great ground cloth with ultramid in the winter.

Ground Cloth

I used the Ground Cloth under my Echo 2 Tarp on a recent backcountry elk hunting trip. The frozen ground near the lake thawed during the day and I could see a fair amount of moisture under the ground cloth. Thankfully, it kept all my gear clean and more importantly dry. I still can't believe how light this cloth is!
